Long before she ever heard of Broadway, Brianna Barnes fell in love with storytelling. Whether it was songwriting on her guitar, making up dances in her bedroom, or creating a character on stage - Brianna brought fresh creativity to her world of the arts. Now, a professional actress, singer-songwriter, and playwright - Brianna is living out those little girl’s dreams to the fullest! She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from CCM (The University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music) in 2016. In her three years based in New York City, she’s performed in regional houses and national tours all over the country. She also directed and produced her first original musical, Let There Be Light, which won Best Musical and Best Score at The New York Theatre Festival. When she’s not performing or auditioning, she loves serving on the music team at her church, baking desserts for her friends, and coming up with new ways to make her WaHi apartment a home. She shares life with her husband of three years, Dylan, who lovingly supports her passionate pursuit of a life in the arts and constantly makes her laugh.

But the star of this show without a doubt was Brianna Barnes. Her maturity as a performer revealed a deep understanding of “Lizzie” that was breathtaking. Barnes gets it; every time I’ve seen her on stage I’ve been impressed with what she brings to the table – and every time she ups her game... She is a mega-star waiting for her turn in the spotlight.

Brianna Barnes (Louise) captured my attention from the moment she entered the stage. She managed to give us a range of emotion carrying us through self-consciousness humbleness, rage, pity, sorrow, and love, played with truthfulness and energy... The highlight of this show was Brianna Barnes as Louise who was completely authentic and charismatic throughout this show, has great poise and vocal talent, and made a stunning transformation from Louise to Gypsy Rose that never seemed forced or faked. She is truly a star.

PRESS FOR BRIANNA BARNES

[Barnes] was so wonderful as the nice girl in GYPSY at the Covedale that I’m still marveling at her ability to play this completely despicable character with such charisma and charm. She has some of the most expressive eyes I’ve ever seen; her presence is that of a star. The world should look out for Miss Brianna Barnes.
